How would you describe the past 18 months in ministry? A plague, exile, burden, grind, challenge, opportunity, revelation?

2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the MCBC Pastor-Spouse Retreat (back in the day when clipart was found in books).

In 1991, the purpose was to help us boost our own spiritual lives.

In 2021, we are hoping to fulfill five purposes (at least in part):

  • Respite amid a busy season (to provide a break)
  • Retreat and some quality time with family (to rekindle family relationships)
  • Reunite with MCBC ministry family (to encourage one another)
  • Reconnect with Jesus (to deepen our most important relationship)
  • Renewal for the season ahead (to imagine what God is doing next).

We aspire to accomplish this by providing scheduledtogether time” and free time to focus on relationships with family, each other, and God through quiet conversations, lively games, prayer, worship, or whatever God might lead us into. The conference room will be available during free time.

FRIDAY evening is free time. Couples have opportunity for a date night (free childcare provided starting at 5:00pm) or arrange to connect with others. Great restaurants in town.

SATURDAY has a mix of scheduled and free time (free childcare provided all-day until 8:30pm). Three plenary sessions for sharing, caring, and seeing Jesus in our midst (can you help design or lead any of these sessions? Please contact Bob Boehr at bboehr@telus.net).

  • Continental breakfast (provided with Friday room rental).
  • Plenary 1: “Yesterday” (10:00 – 11:30am) – We’ll reflect on the challenges, surprises, and lessons of the past 18 months.
  • Lunch together (included in costs) at noon.
  • Plenary 2: “Today” (1:30 – 3:00pm) – We’ll have an honest dialogue about our present circumstances.
  • Free time until supper.
  • Supper together (included in costs) at 6:00pm.
  • Plenary 3: “Tomorrow” (7:00 – 8:30pm) – We’ll imagine together where God is leading us. Communion and worship led by MCBC worship team.

SUNDAY is free time. Continental breakfast in the morning provided with room rental. After checking out (before 11:00am), you’re free to continue connecting with others and/or explore Harrison Hot Springs area.
