MCBC's Vision for Our Congregations - Part 1

In response to the withdrawal of Bethel Mennonite Church, MCBC wants to clarify that we have confirmed options to help congregations imagine and live into a future in which they can thrive. MCBC is willing to work with congregations, no matter what their size may be. MCBC’s approach in walking and working with our congregations is to be relational and resourceful. Our vision for working with all of our congregations, including those who are smaller or even aging, is to work with the people who are currently there, to draw on their gifts and hopes, and then to help them live into their vision. This includes a vision for outreach and growth as a collaborative effort of the pastor and congregation.

Congregations call pastors who are servant leaders. These pastors help the congregation to thrive as a community, to look for what God is already doing in their neighbourhood, and to find ways to align with what God is doing. We believe that everyone in the congregation is called to serve according to their gifts and abilities, whether young or old, man or woman. Our commitment is to resource congregations and pastors towards their vitality and missional impact.

If you would like to discuss ways MCBC could help your congregation, please contact Gerry Grunau, Kevin Barkowsky, or me (contact info).
