MCBC's Vision for Our Congregations - Part 2

We mourn the withdrawal of Bethel Mennonite Church from Mennonite Church BC. Bethel was one of the founding congregations which started the predecessor of MCBC back in 1940. There have been more than eighty years of worshipping together, fellowshipping together, and discerning together in the paths that God would lead us. Leaders from Bethel have nurtured their congregation and have contributed to the leadership of Mennonite organizations across Canada. We are grateful for the leadership that Bethel has provided and thank God for those blessings. Bethel has formally requested withdrawal from MCBC and MCBC is making arrangements to have MCBC delegates accept their leave-taking.

Congregations are determining the journey on which they believe God is leading them. The path Bethel has chosen is to be a church plant for North Langley. MCBC congregations are choosing paths to nurture God's leading within their own congregation. MCBC is present to support and walk with those congregations. We are assured that God blesses all believers.

If you would like to discuss ways MCBC could help your congregation, please contact Garry Janzen, Kevin Barkowsky, or me (contact info).
