January 8thCross Culture Worship Service
On Sunday, January 8, six MCBC congregations worshipping in three languages joined for a "Cross Culture" worship service at Sherbrooke Mennonite Church. Congregations participating were Chinatown Peace Church, Iglesia Menonita Hispana, Peace Church on 52nd, Point Grey Inter-Mennonite, Sherbrooke Mennonite Church, and Vancouver Vietnamese Church. About 210 attended in-person with another 40 joining via Zoom. There was simultaneous translation from English into Spanish and Vietnamese via wireless headsets. Pastor Tim Kuepfer of Chinatown Peace Church preached on Luke 6:27-36, "I Have a Dream." The service included the Lucerna Community Choir, communion, and was followed by a fellowship meal.
