January 22ndValley Road Church Celebrated its One-Year Anniversary!
This past week, Valley Road Church celebrated it’s one-year anniversary. What a wonderful year it has been as we served the people of Kelowna and Glenmore, in collaboration with the MCBC family within the Anabaptist tradition.
Over the year, the church has aimed to join God in the renewal of all things by centring on Jesus and welcoming everyone. The recent celebration acknowledged the efforts and prayers that have contributed to the development of Valley Road Church as a community.
During the gathering, 100+ people came together to worship and share stories of personal growth and change.
One of our favourite moments of the celebration was when Paige, one of the first people to join our church and one of the first people to be baptized at Valley Road church (!!), shared her life story. She spoke about how God met her while in prison as a teenager; she spoke about the ups and downs of life, and how even though life doesn’t always go perfectly, God was patiently walking with her throughout her live. Her message was an amazing testimony of the true nature of Jesus who brings healing and restoration!
Shelby followed her and shared a wonderful message and reminder to continually centre on Jesus, and not allow division and a bounded set mentality take away from the love and unifying message of Jesus
The morning concluded with a wonderful Soup-Sunday, and of course, birthday cake. It was an incredible and memorable day for the church. One that many of us won’t soon forget.
