Western Hmong Mennonite Church - MCBC,
plus people from Thailand and Vietnam, joined together first in worship
and then to help each other.
Many of our brothers and sisters in the Western Hmong Mennonite Church in Maple Ridge have roots in First Hmong Mennonite Church in Kitchener, Ontario. In fact, the mountains of the Maple Ridge area remind them of home, not of Kitchener, but of the mountain country of Vietnam and Laos.
This is an amazing COVID-19 story where online church has brought together Hmong people of Kitchener, Maple Ridge and Vietnam, and now in this vicious storm in Vietnam has brought out the generosity of the Hmong Mennonites in Canada to help their brothers and sisters in Vietnam.
"Who would have ever thought of these connections." marvels Pastor Chung. "I think God is maybe opening new windows for us to see where God is at work during this time."
