Camp Squeah Update - July 7, 2021

It’s great to hear the sounds of laughter and seeing families and children re-connecting with one another in this special place of refuge. We’re wrapping up our first Family Camp of the summer after having endured the heat dome that accompanied our staff training week. We’re thankful for the health and safety we experienced in this heat wave. We’d also like to express our gratitude to Doug and Jenny Pankratz who’ve served as our much appreciated camp speakers this week. On Sunday we’ll be welcoming our first group of children campers. We’re very excited! Please pray for our staff and campers as we navigate new territory and adjust to our new safety protocols. Our aim is to ensure Covid-19 does not become the central theme of our time together and pray that God will use this time to bring healing and relief to those of us starved for community and connection.

While our summer camps will be capped at reduced capacity this summer due to our shortage of staff, there are still opportunities for families to sign up for either family camps or some self-sufficient family camping weekends. Visit our website for the details or call us up and we’ll be happy to explore options with you. Family camping weeks still open for reservations include July 14-16, July 16-18, and Aug 13-15. Why not call up friends, family, or care-group members and plan to celebrate this opportunity to be together and re-connect in a meaningful way at camp?

If you’re wondering if there’s an opportunity for you to serve at camp for a period of time this summer, give us a call. There are opportunities in our kitchen this summer as well as a few co-cabin leading vacancies which need filling. Our experience has shown this will be, both a blessing to yourself as well as the camp and campers we serve.  What do you say?
