Camp Squeah Update - August 25, 2021

We are particularly thankful to report we’ve made it through summer safe and sound.  On Friday August 20, we said good-bye to our last week of campers. The following day, after a rigorous camp-wide cleanup, we thanked and said our emotional farewells to the remarkable group of young adults on our summer staff.

Throughout the summer it was consistently very evident how much of a blessing MCBC’s camp ministry is to the campers we serve, and also to the emerging leaders who are given opportunity to stretch themselves by exercising their talents and developing their gifts. We are grateful for the flexibility and adaptability our young leaders showed throughout the summer. We are equally thankful for the patience, understanding, and grace extended by parents who had to adapt to Covid induced changes to our registration lineups and pickup procedures. All in all, we are pleased with how smoothly summer ran and have been buoyed by the positive feedback we’ve received.

Employment opportunities
Looking ahead, we are anticipating a very busy September (unless Covid restrictions force changes to our plans). We still need staff to join our team. We are looking for a variety of full-time, part-time, and on-call staff. Volunteers who are available to fill in when needed are also most welcome. Positions needing to be filled include housekeeping, kitchen staff, campground maintenance, and camp activity leaders. These positions will run from early September through October (with possibility of extension if bookings and Covid restrictions allow).
