Historical Sketch: Centro de Fe y Esperanza*

Iglesia de Fe y Esperanza started in May 2004. Their purpose was to form a missional Spanish Mennonite congregation in the Commercial Drive area of Vancouver. They were supported by the Evangelism and Church Development Committee of Mennonite Church BC as well as by Peace Mennonite Church, First United Spanish Mennonite Church, and Grace Chinese Mennonite Church, where the congregation met. The first pastor was John Melendez. During the first year there were 40 people in attendance.

The congregation’s Reference Council decided to discontinue the ministry in 2007.
